United's manager the Portuguese coach believes it's crucial the co-owner openly discussed his future vision - but states nothing is guaranteed about the future in the sport, never mind three seasons.
During a discussion with a leading newspaper recently, Ratcliffe stated it might require Amorim a three-year period to produce meaningful results at the Theatre of Dreams.
Emerging in an era when Amorim's future has been receiving close inspection after a prolonged run of disappointing results, the words contributed to reducing certain present tensions.
Yet, discussing prior to the 100th meeting with old rivals the Reds at Anfield, the manager emphasized how tomorrow is difficult to forecast in football.
"It's certainly beneficial to receive that message but he informs me constantly, occasionally through communication after games - but understand, I realize and Jim knows, that football is not like that," he stated.
"The vital factor is the next game. Despite having backers, you cannot manage tomorrow in soccer."
Chief executive Omar Berrada has admitted it has taken much more time for Amorim to acclimate to the top division after his transfer from Sporting during the winter than any person expected.
United have won 10 victories in 34 league games during Amorim's tenure. They still haven't achieved two league games in a row and have not ended a matchday during this campaign higher than ninth.
The worrying figures are stretching belief in the head coach among the Old Trafford faithful approaching a stretch of fixtures the side has performed poorly in for the last couple of years.
The manager stated he does not feel the uncertainty inside the club at their training facility and is adamant nothing equals the expectation he places on his players - and to some extent, he would choose Sir Jim to refrain from seeking to bring a sense of calm because he worries the impact it could have on the team.
"It's not only something people discuss, I feel it daily," he said. "It's certainly beneficial to listen to it because it helps our fans to comprehend the administration know it is going to take a while.
"But at the same moment, I don't like it because it generates a sense that we own time to resolve issues. I don't want that impression in our club.
"The stress I apply to the players or to myself is considerably larger [compared to external sources]. In soccer, especially in big clubs, you need to prove your value every matchday."
