BF6 Gamers Concur: Missions Are Overly Demanding
The launch of the much-awaited Battlefield 6 was met with broad praise, notably for its flagship multiplayer mode. Exclusively on Steam, simultaneous player numbers surged to nearly 750,000. Yet, regardless of its fanfare, an increasing amount of players are protesting against several of the title's toughest challenges, which are mandatory to obtain particular firearms.
Users have commenced using personalized games made via the custom game tool to complete them, emphasizing just how grueling these assignments have become.
Understanding BF6 Objectives
Missions serve as Battlefield 6's fixed in-game challenges, different from the regularly refreshed day-to-day and weekly tasks. It features four categories of assignments, but while the majority simply offer cosmetics and some tools, finishing the gun missions is the only way of obtaining 12 of the 41 key firearms found within the game.
Some of these restricted firearms may soon make their appearance on lists of the finest arms in Battlefield 6.
Gamer Backlash via Reddit
Within Reddit, players are justifiably voicing their concerns about how challenging and repetitive some of these challenges are. A particular gamer highlighted one of the most outrageous examples, mandatory for acquiring the KTS100 MK8 LMG:
- Neutralize 300 foes with LMGs
- Deal 10,000 close-range damage with LMGs
"This challenge is so atrocious and completely out of mind, I want to gouge my eyes out," is a statement that captures just how annoyingly hard these tasks are.
Suppression in Battlefield is more diminished than before in the series, so it lacks nearly as many benefits in combat as it did in previous games. It only registers as suppression if you miss multiple shots in a row.
Meanwhile, hipfiring an LMG is highly imprecise and only works at point-blank proximity, which isn't typically where you aim to be. The commenter also pointed out the paradox in the SMG challenge, needed to obtain the SCW-10, which needs takedowns using ADS, when that task would be considerably more fitting to hipfire kills, and conversely.
Another Extremely Difficult Task
Another Reddit user brought attention to a further incredibly demanding challenge, this time in the long-range weapon type to unlock the PSR:
- Achieve 150 headshot eliminations beyond 200 meters with marksman guns
This is tough enough as it is, but there's another important point to consider: many Battlefield 6 maps do not even allow combat at that kind of range.
There's a healthy variety of map sizes, but given there are merely nine levels in the game currently, it means you're limited to playing a specific urban map, another expansive area, and maybe a classic map at a push if you aim to take long-range shots from beyond 200 meters.
The Workaround
Nevertheless, a method exists: Battlefield Portal. This portal feature is a system that permits you to create personalized matches on whatever map you choose, complete with bots. This means you can exploit the mechanics… but it doesn't really seem like the intended gameplay experience.
Yet, if completing the missions in a normal session seems counterproductive, since you must engage in such an unconventional way that harms both you and your squad, who can blame someone for grinding them out in a personal session so allies are not impaired?
Upcoming Tweaks
It is expected if several of these tasks are made easier in the coming days or weeks, because should they remain unchanged, a portion of the user base simply are unlikely to obtain the restricted guns.
Currently, the audience continues to voice their opinions on these demanding multiplayer missions, hoping for a less arduous overall gameplay in subsequent patches.
